Tamara Cook is the Head of Digital Innovations at FSD Kenya with a focus on using finance to create value for low-income households. This work cuts across traditional financial service providers, fintechs, and real economy players seeking to embed finance into their operations.

Prior to joining FSD Kenya in 2014, Tamara spent seven years on the Financial Services for the Poor team of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where she managed a global portfolio of grants and loans supporting financial institutions reaching the poor with digital financial solutions. She continues to represent the foundation as the board observer for M-Kopa Solar. Prior to the foundation, she spent ten years with CGAP working on the commercialisation of microfinance and aid effectiveness.  While at CGAP, she spent a year in the credit department of Equity Bank in Kenya. She has an MBA from INSEAD and a BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
