Eddie joined ICON in 2000 and specialises in raising funds for and selling high growth technology companies, with a focus on FinTech, software, mobile, telecoms, security, defence, cloud computing, digital media, medical devices and healthcare sectors.
Since joining ICON, Eddie has completed over 40 transactions including: the sale of Action Information Management to Trapeze Software Inc; the MBO and subsequent equity funding of LogicScope, a specialist developer of market data and deal notification systems to the FX sector, the sale of Fluency Voice to Enghouse, the sale of Practique to Silicon Valley based, Merced Systems, the sale of low latency messaging software company, my-Channels to Software AG, the sale of Uniform Dating to Cupid Plc and he has also advised Petards Group Plc, a developer of advanced surveillance systems, on the sale of their Government and Commercial software business to BAE Systems Plc.
Alan Bristow is the Founder and Managing Director of ICON Corporate Finance. He is recognised as one of the country’s leading corporate finance advisers and has over 25 years of combined fund raising and M&A experience. Throughout this period Alan has dealt with some of the world’s leading investors and technology companies. He specializes in all aspects of raising venture capital, management buy-outs, acquisitions and corporate sales and has advised on over 200 transactions.
Before establishing ICON, he spent his formative years in the City of London before joining Price Waterhouse in Melbourne. He also worked as the Finance Director for an Australian Investment Group, prior to returning to the UK and establishing ICON as a leading M&A house to the tech sector. He holds a degree in Economics and Politics and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
He is a frequent speaker and author on venture capital fundraising and selling companies.
Simon joined ICON in 2010 and specialises in selling and raising funds for high growth tech companies with a focus on CleanTech, energy, software, electronics, mobile and e-commerce. He has advised on transactions ranging from raising venture capital, securing strategic investments, M&A and IPOs.
Since joining ICON, Simon has completed a number of transactions including: acting for Tocardo, the tidal turbine producer, on a strategic investment from Spanish energy group Repsol and the Dutch offshore specialist Huisman; the sale of a cloud software company Atlantic Global Plc to US based Keyed-In; and the sale of Hydra, the project management software company, to Latin American based e-Task Technologies.
Prior to joining ICON Simon worked for WH Ireland, the AIM-listed stockbroker and corporate finance house where his focus was on advising both unquoted and listed technology clients ranging in size from £5m to £100m.
Brian is a co-founder of ICON and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. He specialises in advising shareholders of technology companies on their exit strategy. He has over 20 years experience in investment banking, mergers, acquisitions and disposals. Having worked both as principal and adviser he has a unique experience as both a buyer of, and an adviser to, high growth companies in USA, France, Hong Kong, China and the UK. Prior to working at ICON Brian spent eight years in Hong Kong, latterly as Head of Equity Research for the No1 ranked Investment Bank at the time – Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia. Before that he worked for two UK PLCs as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and completed over 15 acquisitions in that period. Brian is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
