Paris-based Alan is tackling a very specific industry: the health insurance market in France — and across Europe.

The first new health insurance company in France in 30 years now has over 6000 business clients and 85,000 members. Alan is on a mission to create an insurance product with transparent pricing and policies that make healthcare more accessible. And it isn’t just a digital gateway — the startup has also obtained an official health insurance license. 

Alan wins wide praise for its product, user-experience and ambition to not just be a digital seller of existing insurance products but to build a health hub, which is a first point of contact whenever people have a question, need a piece of information or want to get reimbursed on health appointments.

Members have access to medical professionals through in-person appointments or by video - and to information and care support through the company’s app. The “Alan Map” enables users to quickly source medical help and handle all reimbursements.

Alan has opened offices in Spain and Belgium and wants to be available all around Europe within five years.
